Bacteria shapes


There are 4 basic shapes that bacterial cells adopt. They can be either :
1)rod shaped
2)spirilla
3)vibrios
4)spherical

Confused by what the technical terms mean?
Dont worry,further explanations are given below. :)

~Spherical bacteria are referred to as cocci (singular: coccus),
~Spirilla(helical shape like corkscrew)
~Vibrios bacterium adopt the shape of curve rods
~Rod shaped bacteria are known as bacilli (singular: bacillus).
